TNSED Manarkeni:
The School Education Department in Chennai has released the Manarkeni app to create an inclusive learning environment Any device will be able access the learning area
Manarkeni is a mobile app launched in July last year that provides a variety of digital resources to teachers so they can enhance the learning experience for students across the state. You can also access this video-based application on other devices with large screens and the Internet. Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi launched the app at the Secretariat on Thursday.
The app can be accessed at https://manarkeni.tnschools.gov.in.
This version is intended to help teachers eliminate the idea that only those with economic wealth can access technological information.
It is available to anyone from any location, so students can access it. It is available in Tamil and English as well as multiple state curriculums for Class 1 to 12.
A press release by the Department states that videos have been used in all classes from grades 6-12 on subjects such as mathematics, science and English. Videos are also available for physics, Chemistry and Botany.
It also contains a quiz that tests the students’ understanding of certain concepts. Each question becomes more difficult as the app progresses.

National Service Scheme
NSS is an educational program that promotes community service and aims at developing the character of young people. NSS is a program that aims to develop the personality of students by promoting community service.
Sports & Physical Education
Students from all over the state are encouraged to participate in sports events at different levels, including Zonal and National. Every year, around 15 lakh students compete in various competitions.
Support for students who have lost their bread-winning parents
Financial assistance is provided to students in classes 1-12 whose parents are unable or have died. Government Financial Institutions deposit Rs.75,000 on behalf of these students. If the parent, who was the main breadwinner, has passed away or is permanently disabled due to an accident, then the Government will make a deposit in Government Financial Institutions. This scheme is funded by Rs.5,70 billion for 2020-21.

Social Welfare Programs
- Bicycles are provided to Class 11 students in state and government schools. Students who come from Scheduled Tribes or Scheduled Castes receive bicycles through the welfare department. School Education Department gives bicycles for students in the Other Class (OC).
- Students in Government-aided schools and public schools are provided laptops
Infrastructure Facilities
In 2020-21, civil work including classrooms, computer laboratories, lab equipment, craft rooms, toilets and drinking-water facilities, as well as new buildings and art rooms, will begin at a cost estimated to be Rs. 182.66 crore. The NABARD is providing assistance in upgrading High and higher secondary schools.
