The Tamil Nadu Racial Card
The following is the list of eligibility criteria for Tamil Nadu ration card.
- Applicants must be Indian citizens.
- The applicants’ families should all be Indian citizens.
- The family member who is applying for the visa and the applicant are required to live separately and prepare their own food.
- The applicant as well as their family members must reside in Tamil Nadu.
- The applicant and his/her immediate family are not allowed to have a family ID card which hasn’t been registered with another Indian state.
- The applicant and his/her immediate relatives’ names cannot be enlisted on another card.
- Both the family member and applicant must be related.

To get a new Ration Card, you need to follow a couple of simple steps.
- Welcome to the Official Site of Tamil Nadu Public Distribution System.
- Select “Apply New Smart Card”, located below “Smart Card Application Services”.
- You must upload a photograph and proof of the family head’s residential address.
- Verify the form to ensure it is free of errors.
- To continue, click on “Submit”.
- A reference code will be provided to you that can help track your request for ration cards.
The documents required for Tamil Nadu Racial Card
Along with the application, you will find a list of documents needed to get a Tamil Nadu Ration Card.
- Documentation of the applicant’s residence
- Last month’s telephone bill
- Last month’s electricity bill
- You can receive a tax receipt for your current year property taxes if you own the home.

- Passport Copy
- Allocation of homes to those living in Slum Clearance Board allocated housing
- Valid Tenancy Agreement
- Surrender Certificate If the house address is different from that of your previous residence,

- In the event that there is no family card at an address in the past, a certificate will be issued by authority responsible for no cards.
- LPG connection details and name of registered customer along with consumer number, oil company, LPG agency, etc.

- In order to receive automatic notifications about the status of Tamil Nadu Ration Card you must provide your contact information including mobile number or email address.
- To contact you, the office must have a stamped and self-addressed postcard or envelope.

Download Tamil Nadu Ration Card
The TNPDS has a website where you can download the smart cards. To use the card, follow the instructions.
- Tamil Nadu Public Distribution System official website.
- Click on the ‘beneficiary options’ menu at the top.
- Enter your mobile number registered and the OTP in the fields provided.
- Log in to the TNPDS Portal.
- Choose the language that you want to print and click on “smartcard”.
- Click on “Save” to save the PDF of the Smart Ration Cards.
